Mapping circuits by hand, one track day at a time
Building Outlap's circuit database without an official feed — surveying corners, elevation, and grade classifications from public data and driver submissions.
There’s no single authoritative feed for circuit layouts, corner counts, and elevation changes — especially outside the top tier of FIA-graded tracks. So the Outlap circuit database is built the unglamorous way: public track maps, satellite imagery, and corrections from drivers who’ve actually turned laps there.
What we store per circuit
- Name, location, country
- Length and turn count
- Grade (G1–G4, or club-grade for non-FIA tracks)
- Elevation profile, where available
- Series that run there
Why this matters for setup advice
Corner-entry speed and elevation change are two of the biggest inputs into a sensible setup recommendation. Get the circuit data wrong and every downstream suggestion inherits the error — so this is one of the few places we’d rather under-populate a field than guess.
If you spot a circuit that’s missing or wrong, tell us — most of the current database exists because someone did exactly that.
